03 · Preliminary considerations

Prepare before entering the lane.

  • All firearms that are not holstered should be unloaded and cased while traveling to or from the range.
  • Present your unloaded and cleared firearm to the Range Counter Associate along with the ammunition you intend to use.
  • Only authorized firearms and ammunition may be used. Steel core, steel-jacketed, tracer, and incendiary rounds are strictly prohibited. Reloaded ammunition is not allowed at this time.
  • Tell the Range Counter Associate if you have never fired a gun. We welcome new shooters and want to ensure you are comfortable and safe.
  • Eye and ear protection are mandatory inside the range. Both are available for rent at the range counter if needed.
  • Foam ear plugs are not adequate protection when used alone. They may be worn beneath approved ear protection for additional coverage.

Safe handling at every moment.

  • All firearms must be unloaded and secured in a closed container or holster when entering or exiting The Range facility.
  • Load and handle firearms only at the shooting stall.
  • Always keep the muzzle pointed downrange.
  • Only one person may shoot at a time, with a maximum of two people per shooting stall.

05 · Additional safety rules

Stay alert. Ask for help.

  • Shotgun ammunition is restricted to slugs, double-aught (00), and triple-aught (000) buckshot.
  • If you need to leave the range for any reason, unload your firearm at the shooting stall and case it.
  • A firearm on the shooting bench should be unloaded with its muzzle pointed downrange and its action open.
  • Shoot only at a target in your assigned lane. Cross-lane shooting is prohibited.
  • Ensure shots are fired below the target hanger and backer. Damage caused by misplaced shots must be reimbursed by the shooter. A damaged target backer will incur a $10 replacement and repair fee.
  • Presentation from a holster is not allowed without prior approval from range staff.
  • Eating, drinking, chewing gum, and using tobacco products are not allowed inside the range.
  • The call ‘Cease Fire’ or the sound of a whistle means stop shooting immediately.
  • Do not consume alcohol or drugs before or while shooting.

  • Inexperienced shooters are not allowed in the range without prior instruction, coaching, and staff approval. New shooters are welcome and encouraged to ask our team for help.
  • Fired casings become the property of The Range and may not be collected because of lead contamination.
  • Children must not be left unattended.
  • Contact The Range personnel whenever you need assistance.
  • The Range reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.
